Primarily a bar and concert venue, Slowdown provides a cool alternative to a more traditional sort of wedding night. Since opening in June of 2007, we have been host to over 100 wedding receptions and even some ceremonies.

Below are some commonly asked questions regarding our wedding setup and policies. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if your questions are not answered below, or if you would like any further information.

What is the setup?
Slowdown has a bar and stage amidst 10,000 square feet of space that can be used in many different ways. The room can be divided to suit the size of your reception, easily accommodating parties of 100 to 350. The gathering space is modern and inviting. The state of the art sound and lighting system is made for a loud and fun rock and roll show, and is a perfect way to dance the night away.

What are the hours?
You can get in to decorate, setup, or have rental deliveries anytime on the day of the event. Receptions typically run from something like 7pm-12am, but you can adjust as you see fit. Keep in mind that at the end of the evening, everything must be cleared out of the venue. It is very common that we have another event the following day.

Do you have an outdoor area?
Yes. We have a patio with tables and chairs for guests who choose to smoke, or just for hanging out on a nice night. We also have overhead garage doors that open to this patio area, if desired.

What is offered for food and drink?
Slowdown runs the bar, and has an extensive beer and liquor selection including 12 different tap beers. Food must be catered, which can be done by anyone you choose.

What staffing is provided?
We have a full staff to take care of the bar and cleanup during and after the event. We also have a sound and lighting engineer on staff. Any band or DJ desired for the evening is the responsibility of the wedding party.

Is there parking available?
Yes. There are 138 parking stalls in the lot attached to Slowdown available to us and neighboring businesses. There is also street parking on all surrounding blocks.

Can I decorate the venue?
Absolutely. The club can be decorated in pretty much any way you see fit, and you can get in early in the morning to take of the decorating.

Will we need to rent anything?
Full use of any of our existing furniture is included, but many people often decide to rent additional tables and chairs, linens, and decorations.

Are there any upcharges for specific days?
No. Our pricing is the same regardless of the day of the week or time of the year.

Do you have any exclusivity clauses for food, drink, or rentals?
Slowdown runs the bar, but otherwise who you choose for rentals, catering, decorating, DJ’s, or bands is entirely up to you.

When should we make a reservation?
As soon as possible. Saturdays in the busy wedding season can be filled a year in advance, so there really isn’t such a thing as too early! We do require a deposit to reserve the date.
